Faith and God
“Jump baby, I’m right here to hold u” I was exposed to these words as a child. If daddy says jump then I know he will hold me. At that age I dint even know how to talk…but faith existed. That’s the beauty of having faith!
‘Faith can move mountains’, all our life our elders have been saying this to us. What does it mean to have faith into something? Is to trust, or is it to believe, or is it to rely on something? What is it?
Faith is all of this and much more! Faith can be in God or parents or an institution or religion. Our faith into something or someone determines the level of loyalty we have in that something or someone. Until and unless we are absolutely convinced about it we cannot put our faith.
There is God...is there? Where? Why can’t I see him? Is it her or him? Can I speak to him? Who has seen him? All these questions can be answered to if there is faith. We can’t see air but we believe that it exists. Don’t we? Of course we do, because we can feel it, similarly we can feel the presence of God. If there wasn’t God then how do we justify miracles? A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law...
God is not bound to any religion on caste or creed. It is a belief that there exists a supernatural power which runs the entire universe. God does not mean Bhagvat Geeta, Quran, Bible or Granth, God means conviction, confidence, trust, sincerity, honesty! God teaches us a way to life, the Almighty carves a path for us to walk on. A road to success, this road has speed breakers and steep curves but there is always a sign board which keeps us on track. This sign board is God. He walks with us through the difficult slopes of life and stands with us like our shadow. Just when we are about to give up and leave the road, God holds our hand and guides us to our destination. It’s easy to blame God and say he wasn’t there when I needed him the most…but do we realize that he was there! He was there like a father, mother, advisor, and even a beggar...it’s just that we failed to recognize him. We have a glorified picture of God and faith, which is not true. God resides within us and hence it is our duty to keep ourselves clean – mentally and physically.
